Menu

The city of Orleans has always been linked to the river Loire. Already in its origins, Orleans was a trade center. In times of Charlemagne the fame of Orleans attracted many universities. In the 14th and 15th century this was one of the most beautiful cities in France. The following were centuries of crisis. The city did not recover till the 17th century. Unfortunately many of the old buildings were destroyed during the Second World War. Since then, huge reconstruction efforts have been made in order to recover the city's lost splendor.
