Gangoji Temple is another of Nara's highlights. The temple was moved to its current location when Nara became the capital of Japan. After a period of prosperity, the temple fell into oblivion during the middle ages. Today Gangoji Temple is split into two temples: Gangoji Temple in Chuin-cho (a World Heritage Site), and Gangoji Temple in Shibanoshin-ya-cho.
In the picture you can see Gangoji Temple's Main Hall (Hondo). In Gangoji you can also visit two more interesting buildings, the Zen Room (Zenshitsu), and the Small Five Storied Pagoda (Goju-no-sho-to).
