In this picture you can see some rice wine barrels. These piles of barrels are very common in temples in Japan. They are offerings to the deities.

Although many foreigners call rice wine Sake, the correct Japanese name is Nihonshu. Sake means alcohol. The rice wine has a concentration of alcohol between 10 and 20%. Sake can be drunk hot or cold.
