13/22.- Nagoya, Kenchuji Temple


Kenchuji Temple was built in the 17th century by the leader of the Owari clan, Mitsutomo Tokugawa, to honor the clan founder, Mitsutomo Tokugawa. In the temple several generations of the Tokugawas are buried.

The main buildings of the temple are the Main Gate, the Bell Tower, the Onarimon Gate of Honor, the Main Hall, and the Sutra Hall.

To get to Kenchuji Temple you can take the subway to Kurumamichi Station.
