The Columbus Expedition was a very profitable business for the
Spanish Crown. Spaniards never found the "El Dorado",
but they found many gold and silver mines. The toll for native
Americans was very high. Many local cultures disappeared,
and millions of indigenous died because of the diseases the Europeans
brought to their continent. Many other locals were killed in the battle
fields.
