27/39.- Mallorca, Valldemosa, Cartoixa

Well, that’s the Cartoixa. The current church is a 1717-1812 work. The fame of this Charterhouse begins in 1835, when the Cartoixa opened its doors to foreign visitors. From December the 15th 1838 to February 1839 George Sand, her sons and Chopin lived here. Other famous people who have stayed here are: Azorin (writer), Unamuno (philosopher), Santiago Rusiñol (artist) and his friend Ruben Dario (who wrote some of his works here).
