25/39.- Mallorca, Valldemosa

Valldemosa is located on the "Serra de Tramuntana", on the North coast of the Island. It’s about 20 minutes from Ciutat de Mallorca (Palma). This village has attracted many tourists since the 19th century. One visitor has made Valldemosa famous worldwide: F. Chopin. He lived here in 1838. Another prominent visitor was George Sand.

The Valldemosa church was built in 1245, and new extensions were added in 1718, 1810 (the Catalina Tomas Chapel was added) and 1863 (a new facade and a new tower were added).
