Lyon, Place Bellecour
Place Bellecour is a huge square covered with red gravel surrounded
by flower stalls and shops. This should be one of your first stops
when visiting Lyon. Do not miss the subway entrance with its combination
of modern design and Roman vestiges. A big pavilion hosts Lyon's main
tourist office, where friendly staff will help you find accommodation.
The Tourist Bureau also gives information on tours of the city and
give free maps and tourist brochures.
In the middle of the square is the equestrian statue of Louis
XIV you see in the photo.
