Lyon, Rue Victor Hugo
In this photo you can see one of the big pedestrian streets in
the city center. This street is called Victor Hugo and goes from Bellecour
Square to Carnot Square. Several cinemas, restaurants and cafes draw
visitors and locals every day. On weekends the street is fuller than
ever.
As in many other cities in France, you find people of all races
and colors in the city's main avenues and streets. This is a legacy
of France's colonial periods. Algerians, black Africans and Vietnamese
came to the metropolis to find a brighter future.
