2.- Kilkenny, Kilkenny Castle & St. Mary's Cathedral

Kilkenny has a history that goes back to the 6th century when it was founded by St. Canice as a monastic settlement.  You can see some of this history as you gaze over the River Nore from Maudlin Street, a short distance from the wonderful Dunromin bed and breakfast.  To the left is Kilkenny Castle and to the right is St. Mary's Cathedral.
