38/43.- Florence, Piazzale Michelangelo
Michelangelo Buonarroti was born in 1475 and died in 1564. He
is, with Leonardo, the biggest artist in the Renaissance. He was sculptor,
painter, architect and poet. He was one of the protected artists of
the Medici family (princes and popes). He did the famous "David" to
decorate the door of the 'Signoria Palace' (we saw a copy on the first

If you want to see the real "David" youll have to go to
'Galleria dellAcademia' (in Via Ricasoli). There youll
find other finished and unfinished works of Michelangelo: "The Abduction
of the Sabinas", "The Slaves" and "Pietá Palestrina" [Next »]
