In the past decades the Festival has added many new arts to its offer: music, cinema and poetry. It has also added new nationalities -- plays from India, Japan, Russia, Korea and South America have been offered lately.

Although many things have changed since its birth, the Festival is still the meeting place for theater lovers and professionals from around the world. Some of them come to the Festival to attend one show, but many others take part in all the shows they can in the few days they stay in Avignon. If you have some days left in July-August you shouldn't miss the opportunity to visit the Theater Mecca. You won't be disappointed.
