16/35.- Avignon, Place Carnot

The goal of the current Avignon Festival is to promote new French and foreign drama and dance productions. Each July about forty new performances are offered to the growing audience. Last year more than 120,000 people attended the Festival plays.

Three types of works are presented each year in Avignon: the "creations mondiales" (=world premieres), the "creations" (=new productions) and the "creations en France" (=work performed abroad in their original language ).
