7/35.- Avignon, Notre Dame des Doms

Beside the palace is the 12th-century 'Cathédrale Notre-Dame des Doms'. A gilded statue of the Virgin from the 19th century crowns the cathedral. The tombs of some of the apostate popes rest in peace under its sacred roof. The admission to the temple is free, and it is open everyday from 11 am through 6 pm.
