28/30.-Tay Phuong Pagoda, Buddhas

The Tay Phuong Pagoda is more known for the statues it contains than for its architecture. Inside this wooden pagoda, you will find some great samples of Vietnamese engraving and sculpture.

There are more than eighty statues representing the former monks of the pagoda. There is also a collection of Buddhas, and other Buddhist deities as Vajrapanis (Kim Cuong) and Arhats (La Han). Although you will find sculptures in almost all Vietnamese pagodas, nowhere did I see so many, and so beautiful!
