5/31.- Osaka, Shintenoji Temple

The Shitennoji Temple was founded by Prince Shotoku in the 6th century. Prince Shotoku was one of the first adopters of Buddhism in Japan. With the support of the Soga Clan, he spread the new religion in his country. This led to a conflict with the Monobe Clan, whose members did not want to abandon Japan's local religion, Shintoism. After his victory, Prince Shotoku built the Shitennoji Temple.

Osaka is a big city. The best way to move around is by subway. The city has also a JR Loop Line that can be used to visit some of the tourist sights in Osaka.
