Nara is one of the most beautiful cities in Japan. The town has some of the best preserved temples and shrines in Japan.

Nara was the capital of Japan in the 8th century, during the Nara Period. The city is located on the Kinai plain, in the Kansai region in central Japan, less than one hour from Kyoto and Osaka.

On the following pages I will give you tourist information and travel tips in order to prepare a trip to this ancient capital.
