28/50.- Kyoto, Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace is another of the must see monuments in Kyoto. You can get here on foot from the Nijo-jo Castle, or by subway from the Central Station.

In order to visit the Palace, you need to apply in advance for a special permission at the Imperial Palace Household Agency. Guided tours are given twice a day in English. On Sundays and national holidays, the complex is closed to visitors.
