Pushkar is one of the most popular destination in Rajasthan. The town is famous for its sacred lake, for its Brahma temple, and for its camel fair.

The camel fair takes place in October and November, when hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world come to Pushkar. The main events are the cattle market and the camel races. Although there is a fair ground with tents for tourists, accommodation during the fair is scarce. It is necessary to book several months ahead.
