The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is inside the Da Ci'en Temple. This Temple of Great Maternal Grace was built to commemorate the death of the Empress in 648. Inside the temple you will find two buildings on the sides, the Bell Tower, East, and the Drum Tower, West, from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

On the Central Axis of the temple you find the Hall of Mahavira, with three carved statues of Sakyamuni; the Sermon Hall, where Buddhists listened to sermons; the Big Wild Goose Pagoda; and the Hall of Xuanzang Sanzang, with Xuanzang's relic.
