8/40.- Xian, Mount Lishan, Chaoyuange Temple, roof

Many temples and ancient buildings in China have animals on their roofs. My local guide told me that the more important the building, the more animals you see. I think the ones that have the most animals in China are the roofs in the Forbidden City, in Beijing. In the picture you see five animals, this indicates this is a rather important building.
