Suzhou, Suzhou Silk Museum
As this virtual tour draws to a close, I'll note that there are a number of other attractions that you
might want to see including some other gardens (the Lion Grove Garden, the Lingering Garden,
etc.), pagodas (including the Northern Pagoda, and the twin "Shuang Ta" pagodas dating to 982),
and this, the Suzhou Silk Museum. Much of Suzhou's historic claim to fame was due to its silk
manufacturing industry, and this museum supposedly covers the history of Chinese silk weaving
in excellent detail, complete with exhibits that include real silkworms. (Unfortunately though, I can't
personally vouch for that since the museum was closed for renovations when I visited!)
