Suzhou, Master of Nets Garden, Central Lake
The centerpiece of the garden is a little lake surrounded by pavilions, corridors, and buildings,
and the whole place has very pretty views. Many consider the Master
of the Nets Garden to be the most balanced of the Suzhou gardens in its use of water, rocks,
plants, and trees and it's also viewed as a masterpiece of "landscape compression," i.e., effective
use of a small space to create the impression of a much larger area with many different scenic
views.
