The roads in this part of the country are not in very good condition. Most of the roads are winding and quite dangerous. Driving at night is not recommended.

If you prefer traveling on your own, there are local public buses that connect the main towns in the area. You will need a good Chinese phrase book to buy the tickets, a basic knowledge of Chinese will make your life easier.
