30/43.- Shanghai, Residential Apartment Building
The real estate market fluctuates a lot in Shanghai, but accommodation prices do not. Shanghai is an expensive city. The range of upmarket hotels is very varied. Some of the luxury hotels are extremely expensive, and are only affordable for corporate visitors or rich tourists. There are also some nice 4 star hotels in the center.
For stays longer than a couple of days, I do recommend serviced apartments. Like the rest of the accommodation in Shanghai, prices are not low, but usually you get better deals in serviced apartments than in hotels.
Cheap accommodation is very scarce. There are some hostels in the city , but you will really need to book well in advance if you want to secure a bed.
