26/43.- Shanghai, skyscrapers

Shanghai is a modern architecture lover's paradise. The quantity and size of the skyscrapers in this city could keep anyone entertained for weeks. New projects are under construction throughout the city.

The main area with high buildings is the new financial district of Pudong, but skyscrapers are almost everywhere.

Shanghai is a city that changes very fast. One of the things that most surprises foreigners is the speed at which an entire area can change. What one day used to be a district of old houses, in a few months can become a residential area with skyscrapers. In the area where I took this picture, one could see these two office buildings, two new residential buildings under construction, some old houses being torn down, and some other old houses still standing.
