2/43.- Shanghai, People's Square

The city of Shanghai is huge. More than 15 million people live here. And this number may increase in the near future, because although the government of China is trying to create other poles of attraction in the country, the magic of Shanghai is still drawing immigrants from all regions of China. Thousands of foreigners have also chosen Shanghai to live.

The city of Shanghai is divided into two main areas, Pu Xi and Pu Dong. Puxi is the area that sits on the west side of the Huangpu river. This is where the old downtown, the main residential area, the shopping and commercial districts and the old landmarks and temples are. On the East side of the river sit the new financial district, with the famous "Oriental Pearl TV Tower", and new residential areas.
