Huanglong, Glowing Waterfall
Huanglong means Yellow Dragon. On this picture you can see why.
The slopes of the mountain look like a yellow dragon flying down the mountain when the sun hits the
calcareous deposits.
These yellow calcareous deposits are formed when the travertine rocks react chemically with the substances on the slope of the mountain. The travertine is formed with the limestone waters coming from the melting snow after being filtered by the soil of the mountain.
