You can get to Jiuzhaigou Valley by plane or by bus.
The Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong Airport used to be a military airport, which was recently converted into a tourist airport. This airport has flights from China's top cities, and is being expanded in order to accommodate flights from other regions. This is great news for tourists, but at the same time it means that the area will be even more overcrowded.
The city with the most flights to Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong Airport is Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. The flight from this city lasts 45 minutes.
The Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong Airport is on the top of a mountain at a height of more than 12,000 feet (3500 m). When checking in for your flight, ask for a window seat. The views of the mountains when approaching the airport are awesome. Note that in bad weather the airport closes. From the airport there are shuttle buses and taxis to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong.
