One of the favorite pastimes in Hong Kong, for both locals and tourists, is shopping. Indeed, Hong Kong is known as one of the world's best shopping destinations. And, one of the most popular shopping destinations is this, the Temple Street Night Market. The market stretches for blocks, with dozens of stalls selling all kinds of cheap merchandise: little porcelain knickknacks, tacky Mao memorabilia, chintzy little toys, inexpensive clothing, costume jewelry, cassettes, etc. There are also lots of food stalls (many specializing in seafood), plus a few fortune tellers and palm readers thrown in for atmosphere. It's an interesting place to explore and perhaps even to buy. But if you want "something nice" you are probably better off in one Hong Kong's more upscale shops!
