Hong Kong, Museum of History, Ancient Hong Kong
The museum begins with one gallery on Hong Kong's natural environment, and another on its
beginnings as a Neolithic settlement (portrayed through a number of life-sized dioramas like this
one). A third gallery covers virtually all of China's 2000-year imperial history, from the Han to
Qing dynasties. Unlike many cities in China, however, Hong Kong's most interesting period
came during the last two centuries, and the museum does a very good and thorough job covering
that period.
