Hangzhou, Leifeng Pagoda, decorated walls
The walls of the Pagoda have been exquisitely
decorated with statues and murals. In the picture you can see
some of the wooden statues that
adorn
the top floor. They depict
Buddhist scenes.
Another pagoda you should not miss when visiting
Hangzhou is the 6 Harmonies Pagoda,
on
Yuelun Hill on the north
bank of the Qiantang River. This pagoda, which was named after
the six Buddhist harmonies (heaven, earth, north, south, east,
and west), was first built in 970 AD. The Six Harmonies Pagoda
is an ancient Chinese architectural masterpiece.
