Sichuan is famous throughout China for its cuisine. Many Chinese think Sichuan food is the best of all the regional foods. And in Chengdu you will find plenty of restaurants to taste the local specialities. The most popular food is the Hot Pot, a big pot with a boiling broth where diners cook vegetables, tofu, seafood, meat or fish. Foreigners should always order the non-spicy or the least spicy hot pot.

Another of the local attractions is Sichuan Opera. Traditional Sichuan Opera is more a cabaret show than an actual opera. You can buy the tickets yourself or ask your hotel for an opera tour.
