Beijing, White Pagoda
In the center of Beijing, North of the Forbidden City, you can find a nice park, Beihai Park. It is the oldest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. This is a great place to go for a walk, and to relax by the lake. If you have some time left, you can rent one of the boats and go for a ride. If you feel hungry, there are some restaurants in the park. My favorite is one next to the lake.
In Beihai Park, you can also visit the White
Pagoda. This Lama Pagoda was originally built in 1651, and was
rebuilt twice in 1679 and 1731 after being destroyed by earthquakes.
From the top of the White Pagoda there is a nice view of the
Forbidden City, Beihai Park and the rest of Beijing.
Next to Beihai Park is the Round City.
