Beijing, Wang Fu Jing, Mall
Beijing is a huge metropolis. The city has
some of the longest and broadest avenues I have ever seen. In
the center of Beijing you also find many squares, parks and
gardens. The city is
said
to be more than 100 miles long and
100 miles wide. The center of the city is inside the first ring,
which was built over the ramparts of the old city. There are
four more rings, the newest of them is the sixth ring (yes there
are five rings, but the last one is number six, because number
two does not exist).
Inside the first ring you find the Forbidden City, Tian an Men and Beihai park in the middle. In the south, is the Summer Palace; and in the North is the Tibetan Buddhist Lama Temple and the Confucian Temple.
Between the First and the Third Rings , you find the Beijing Zoo and many interesting Parks. Among them, the Zizhiyuan Park, the Children's Science Park, The Ditan Park and the Liuvin Park.
Between the Third and Fourth Rings , you find the Chaoyang Park and the Chinese Ethnic Culture Park (North). The latter one will give you a quick idea of the different cultural minorities living in China.
Between the Fourth and the Fifth Rings , you find the Summer Palace (Northwest), the Ruins of Yuanmingyuan, and the Olympic Park (North).
Between the Fifth and the Sixth Rings are some small municipalities. The latter Ring was built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
