33/42.- Almaty, Old Officers Assembly

A hundred meters from the Church there is a small ancient wooden building. It was built in 1908 for the Officers Assembly. Officers and military men were respectful in Almaty at all times as the ancient Verny (now Almaty) was found like a Russian fortification in the Central Asia. In 1980 it was restored and given to the Municipal museum of musical instruments. Later in soviet period there was built a big Officers' Palace (at the right) with big concert and sport halls, library, few restaurants, many studies and class rooms for different amateur occupations and hobbies for officers and any other military and non military people.
