11/50.- Washington DC, The Lincoln statue

Inside the shrine there is a marble statue of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He led the country during the Civil War. The war ended with the defeat of the Southern States, the end of slavery in America. Lincoln was shot on April 14th 1865 at Ford's Theater.
