3/50.- Washington DC, the Capitol

The U.S. Capitol Building is the most recognizable sight in Washington DC. This late 18th century building houses the US Senate and the House of Representatives. The Capitol is open to the public. It is necessary to get a ticket at a stand outside, though. Tickets are given on a first come, first served basis from 9 am every day except Sundays.

The Capitol Complex comprises several buildings. One of them is the Botanic Garden.
