35/39.- San Diego, La Jolla

If you ever come to San Diego, you do have to go to La Jolla, an upscale beach town north of San Diego (technically within its city limits).

La Jolla is the perfect place to spend a day on the beach. You can get to La Jolla by car ( I-5) in 20 minutes.

In La Jolla, you can have a good meal in one of its fine restaurants, go shopping, spend the day on the beach, watch the surfers, go snorkeling, and see the sea lions lying on the rocks of one of its coves.
