Venice Beach, or Venice, was the creation of an investor named Abbott Kinney, who constructed a system of canals and an entertainment complex in this district of Los Angels in 1905. Since then, most of the canals have disappeared, but the area has not lost its attractive. Some canals still exist between Washington Blvd. and Venice Blvd.
