18/33.- Grand Canyon, The Abyss

The next stop in the Hermits Rest Route is the Abyss. From this stop you can see how deep the Canyon actually is.

Inside the Grand Canyon National Park there are several accommodation options. There are five lodges in the South Rim: El Tovar Hotel, the most expensive in the area; Bright Angel Lodge, another of the historic lodges; Maswik Lodge, great for families; Yavapai Lodge and Kachina Lodge. In Tusayan you have more places to stay. In the North Rim you have one lodge, the Grand Canyon Lodge.

In the South Rim you have four campgrounds, and in the North Rim two. Reserving in advance is a must (especially during the high season, late spring and summer).
