28/48.- Southwest Florida, Fort Myers, Manatee Sign

This sign will show you that a manatee is more than just a nose peeking out of the water. One of Florida’s endangered species, only about 3,000 manatees are still around. Their main enemies are pollution and the human being's boating activities which harm this big fatty, sometimes called a sea cow. They can grow to about 10 feet long and weigh approximately 1,800 pounds.
