Named after its Italian big sister, by a certain General Williams in the late 19th century, Naples, once the home of the Calusa and Seminole Indians, quickly became hostess to hordes of people who’d come down for a winter retreat. By the early 1900’s celebrities such as Gary Cooper, and Greta Garbo were sunning themselves on this beautiful Gulf Coast town.
