23/50.- San Francisco, Merchants Exchange

Next door an old faithful: Merchants' Exchange Building, second home of San Francisco stock exchange. Designed by W.Polk in 1903, this was the tallest building on the West Coast at the time, that survived the earthquake and fire of 1906. Today it hosts the Merchants Exchange Conference Center and leading law and internet firms. The historic Merchants Exchange Ballroom splendid interiors have been newly renovated and decorated.
