One of the best places to buy souvenirs is the Mercado Hidalgo area, which can be found in Avenida Negrete with Second Street.

Mercado Hidalgo is a true Mexican market where locals buy. Prices in this market are local. In the market you can buy all sorts of local food and ingredients (specially recommended are its spices).

In the area of the market, you will find some local restaurants, with authentic Mexican dishes (in opposition to Avenida Revolucion).
