30/50.- Chukka Cove Farm, palm trees

Before we go to the beach --I think we have already seen many nice beaches-- we will go hiking for a while. In the picture you can see some of the trees of one of the typical plantations in the island. If I am not wrong, those are coconuts palm trees. There are two species of coconuts, one local and one imported from other lands. Other species of palm trees produce bananas and plantains. Plantains are similar to bananas, but are more difficult to digest. Usually they are cooked. You find plantains in many local dishes, most of the times fried.
