Puerto Viejo, sunset
In the picture you can see a couple of fishing boats.
Local people in the area are mostly black.
They are of Afro-Caribbean descent.
People speak English, Spanish and Patois. Patois is a dialect that mixes English, French, Spanish and African words.
In Puerto Viejo there is a distinctive culture. Rastafarianism, as in Jamaica, is the local religion here. Braids, peace, love and
reggae
music reign everywhere.
