23/28.- Monteverde National Park, rainforest

The Monteverde National Park is another of the attractions of Costa Rica. The government declared this area a special protection zone in the 1970's when they realized the rich flora and fauna in Costa Rica was in danger.

The Park is open daily from 7 am, but there is a strict policy of allowing only 120 people in at the same time. If you get here late, you may have to wait till some visitors leave, before being let in.
