45/50.- Rio de Janeiro, Carnival in Sambodrome

The best Samba school from the previous year will be the last one to take part in the parade every day. I guess they do it in order for the public to have a reason to stay till very late in the night (around 6 am sometimes).

The best Samba School of the carnival will be designated the winner, after the jury deliberation, the worst will descend to second division.

Every day six schools of Samba take part in the parade. Each one has 80 minutes to complete the parade along the avenue. The total length of the Sambodrome show is 10 hours. The last samba school usually finishes its parade around 6 or 7 am, just before sunrise.
