The main attractions in Centro district are along Avenue Rio Branco. One of the landmarks is the Municipal Theater. To get to the theater you have to take a taxi, or take the metro to the Cinelandia Station.

The Municipal Theater is a classic building, in one of the nicest squares in Rio. During carnival, popular parties take place here every day; with samba bands, people in fancy dress and bars with drinks. From here you can walk to the cathedral, take the metro, or take a taxi back to your place.

In Cinelandia Square you will find a couple of good restaurants, and some bars where you can have a quick lunch.
